So this questions is:
I’m obsessed with food!
I feel like I’m always thinking about food
and when the next time I can eat it.
Is this normal?
How do I stop feeling this way?
So, I would just start by saying
that we are evolutionarily programmed
to seek out food,
And that, for the majority of time,
that humans have been on earth,
that drive to eat
has been what has kept us alive.
And it’s only been,
in a relatively short period of time,
that we’ve been in a society
where for most of us,
we have the opportunity
to have ready access with food.
So, our environment
has changed dramatically.
Our DNA is exactly the same.
And, for most people,
this can be a difficulty
in having that food availible.
I would like to eat,
but I’m not really hungry.
But, for some people,
if those thoughts become intrusive
or negatively impact their lives,
then that could be an indicator
that there might be and underlying issue.
You might try paying attention
to those thoughts,
and if they have a negative impact
on your life;
do they keep you from getting done
what you need to get done?
Do you find that you are overeating
or constantly eating?
And, if you notice
that constant focus on food,
or behaviors around food
are negatively impacting your ability
to go about your day-to-day life,
then it might be worth talking to somebody
just to see.
Because, again, we are now at a point
where how we were designed to be
can bump up into how we live
in our society today.
